Looking for dentures in Sutton?

Tooth loss can significantly impact your life, affecting your ability to enjoy food, communicate clearly, and smile and socialise with confidence. One of the most reliable and cost-effective solutions to tooth loss is the use of dentures.

Dentures can restore your smile and make eating and speaking easier and more natural. They not only improve appearance and function but also prevent the remaining teeth from drifting out of line. We have a range of dentures available for our patients; they can be either complete or partial, both of which are designed and custom fitted to the individual.

A complete denture, also known as a full denture, false teeth or plate, is a removable acrylic appliance used when all teeth within a jaw have been lost and need to be prosthetically replaced.

  • In contrast to a partial denture, a complete denture is constructed when there are no teeth left in an arch, hence it is an exclusively tissue-supported prosthesis. It can replace all the upper, lower or both sets of teeth.
  • A complete denture is an acrylic mouthpiece that sticks to your gums and to ensure that the denture fits correctly, you will undergo a precise fitting procedure.
  • Complete dentures are removable and usually made from special resins and may include metal for additional strength.

Partial dentures are used to replace missing teeth when there are still some healthy teeth remaining in the arch.  They are an excellent way of keeping your natural smile and enable you to eat comfortably and socialise.

  • Typically, a dentist will recommend partial dentures when you have three or more missing teeth that are next to each other.
  • A partial denture is used in conjunction with healthy teeth as the denture is anchored to surrounding natural teeth using custom designed metal anchors.
  • Partial dentures are usually removable and made from specialist resins plus metal or porcelain for additional strength.
  • When we create your partial dentures, we take several factors into account, such as the anatomy of your mouth, including your hard and soft palate and your remaining teeth and how they fit together.
